Robotics
Joint components, housings and structural brackets as prototypes and small batches — fit dimensions and weight controlled so the machine actually assembles and runs.
Two words matter for robotics parts: fit and weight
Structural parts on a robot rarely work alone — they mate with gearboxes, bearings and motors. That makes dimensional and geometric tolerance on mating faces more important than appearance. A hole pattern that is slightly out will still assemble, but it will run with noise and extra load.
The other is weight. Every gram removed from a moving part reduces drive power and inertia, so robotics parts are full of weight-saving features: ribs, pockets, thin walls. Those features distort easily during machining and need deliberate attention to workholding and cutting sequence.
The reality of iteration
Robotics development almost never freezes at the first revision. What matters is response to revisions: we keep the previous process plan, fixturing and inspection records, so the next revision only reworks what changed instead of starting process preparation over.
Please tolerance mating dimensions individually on the drawing rather than relying on a blanket general tolerance — that is the single most common cause of rework on robotics parts.
Why Us
Forming Processes
| CNC machining | Joints, mounting flanges and structural brackets where accuracy and rigidity matter. |
|---|---|
| Sheet metal | Frames and guards — large thin-sheet structures, low cost and short lead time. |
| 3D printing | Styling checks, cable clips and other validation parts with modest strength needs. |
| Silicone / PU casting | Small batches of soft or damping parts without tooling. |
Surface Finishes
| Anodising | Aluminium structural parts — corrosion protection plus appearance, clear or black. |
|---|---|
| Bead blasting | Removes tool marks; a pre-anodising step or a matt finish in its own right. |
| Painting | Housings and guards requiring a specified colour. |
| Black oxide | Low-cost rust protection for steel parts used internally. |
