Hardware Development

Schematic, PCB layout, prototype bring-up and production data, developed alongside the enclosure so the board actually fits.

The board and the enclosure are one job

Hardware and structure are often outsourced separately: the board is laid out for electrical optimum, the enclosure for visual optimum, and at assembly the connector faces the wrong way or the board is 0.4mm too thick. Whoever finished first reworks.

We run both on the same rhythm. Structure supplies the outline and height limits; hardware lays out within them; critical interface positions are locked at schematic stage.

Two questions belong at selection

A hardware respin costs more than a structural one, because it drags scrapped components and another fabrication wait with it. So "will it fit" and "can we buy it" move up to component selection.

Capabilities

DeliverablesSchematic, PCB project files, Gerber, BOM, placement drawing, test notes
Typical duration3–6 weeks to first prototype at moderate complexity, subject to component lead times
Co-developmentShared board outline and height constraints; interface positions locked jointly
Bring-up scopeFunctional verification and basic electrical test; EMC and safety via third-party lab (to be confirmed)

Solutions

Requirements to first prototype

Turn the function list into selection and a schematic, then a board that runs the main functions.

Revising an existing design

Keep proven circuit blocks, adjust size or interfaces, shorten verification.

Outline in step with structure

Outline, height limits and connector orientation confirmed jointly.

Design Guide (DFM)

Outline before layout

Starting without a board outline almost guarantees a redo.

Match connector orientation to assembly

Orientation dictates cable routing and hand access.

Reserve space for test points

Production needs them and there is rarely room left after routing.

Confirm supply before freezing parts

An unobtainable component means the whole board changes.
