Schematic, PCB layout, prototype bring-up and production data — developed alongside the structure so the board actually fits the enclosure.

Hardware and structure are two halves of one product, yet they are often developed apart: the board is laid out for electrical optimum, the enclosure for visual optimum, and at assembly the connector faces the wrong way or the board is 0.4mm too thick. Whoever finished first ends up reworking.

We run both on the same rhythm. Structure supplies the board outline and height limits; hardware lays out within them; critical interface positions are locked at schematic stage. The first prototype then fits the enclosure, rather than the second.

Process Overview

A hardware respin costs more than a structural one, because it usually drags scrapped components and another fabrication wait with it. So "will it fit" and "can we buy it" move up to the selection stage — package size and lead time are checked together, not after layout.

Outline before layout

Starting layout without a board outline from structure almost guarantees a redo. Get an outline with height limits first.

Match connector orientation to assembly sequence

Orientation dictates cable routing and whether a hand can reach in. It is not a 90-degree rotation after the fact.

Reserve space for test points

Production needs them, and there is rarely room left once routing is complete.

Confirm supply before freezing critical parts

An unobtainable component means the whole board changes. Check package and lead time at selection.

FAQ

Can you do PCB layout only?

Yes. Provide the schematic and constraints. We will confirm the board outline and height limits are aligned with structure before starting.

Can you handle EMC and safety certification?

Certification must be issued by an accredited third-party lab. We support rectification and sample submission, but we do not issue reports or promise first-pass approval.

Can hardware and structure be done together?

That is what we recommend. Running them in step aligns outline and interfaces during design and typically saves a prototype round.
